Here's a moth imitating a wasp in the park woods today. A Synanthedon species?

An excellent resource for checking any of the Lepidoptera that appear on the UK checklist is this one. Many species accompanied by photos of multiple life cycle stages. One of their photos of the adult Synanthedon vespiformis is practically the identical twin of yours.
