Hi, It's an Urophora alright, but not U. cardui, the wing pattern is different. In U. cardui the discal and preapical bands are joined at the posterior side, whereas in this specimen they are separated. This is a species of the solstitialis-complex, males are unidentifyable, and females only based in the tip of th aculeus.... So it's impossible to give a specific name.. John |
