Hey,

I'm totally lost with the Hybomitra species, I really need help!

Here is a female I caught in central sweden, in marecagous area (Really interresting species of Tipulids)

I belive the subcallus is partly shiny because it has been scrubed. I belive the frons is wide, so that would make it H tropica.
Notopleural is brown yellow, but only a little bit diferencied from the mesonotum color.
Pilosity on the red part of the abdomen is exclusively yeallow.

It is a pretty dark confiformis (recently stat, revived by me).
Lower callus is wrinkled, which is never seen in montana-group (including tropica)
Yes, the black on the subcallus is likely due to rubbing, but the brown in the center is not. The shape is typical for confiformis (though it can be much more extended).
That said, the dark median vitta on tergites is unusually broad.
