Hello, what kind of wasp is this? I saw it in August 12/07 in our garden (Tyrol, 900 m a.s.l.) Regards, Angie Monsti attached the following image: [49.14Kb] |

Am no expert, but perhaps Symmorphus sp, a Mason Wasp. BW Tristan

Hi Angie, I believe, that here you will not get a better answer as on insektenfotos.de / 12. Aug. It is definitively not a Symmorphus, but an Ancistrocerus, and in my opinion a species recognition is not possible. For Tristan: Symmorphus always has a longitudinal furrow in tergum I, tergum I in general also is longer. Regards, Christian |
