Hi,
I photographed this fly in Veldhoven, the south of the Netherlands, near a small river a couple of days ago.
I have searched other websites to determine this fly, but did not succeed.
Well, i am not quite sure : I think it is Empis lutea - dance fly species.

Hope somebody can tell me which dance fly species it really is.
More help from this great site is appreciated.

Thank you very much,
Richard

Probably, yes, because it cannot be lutea on account of the dark markings on the mesonotum.
