Beautiful fly with speckled wings

I found this one in my photo archive. It was photographed on May 22nd, 2006, at the edge of a wooded area, close to the river Linge at Beesd, Netherlands. I did not record the size. Because I did not know at that time how difficult the identification of flies is, I named it Platystoma semionatis after seeing some photographs of that species, an identification which I very much doubt now and which I would like to have confirmed (or corrected) at least. identifying this genus in Southern Europe becomes extremely tricky though.
