Hi * locality - Silgueiros - Viseu - PORTUGAL * date - 2007.03.07 * size - 5 mm (medium fly) * habitat - woodland * substrate - near river, sand , and attracted by a white bag (very good to attract Empididae flies.) Empis cf. livida?? (I don?t know which characters we must seek to reach species level in Empididae. please provide me some info so I can try it in next time.) A male of the Rhamphomyia nigripennis group. I would need to see the specimen to identify it to species level.
