Hello! This fly from yesterday (Ostwestfalen/Germany) was about the size of a house fly (8-10 mm) but more compact. Found on leaves at the forest edge. Could it be a Tachinid? Thanks in advance! Hi J?rgen - not Tachinidae (no bend in vein M and not one of the exceptions to that rule). I'd say Muscidae, probably Polietes domitor (= albolineatus) male. Tony ---------- Tony Irwin |

Not every fly with stiff hairs must be a Tachinid... ;-) Best regards, Jürgen -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Juergen Peters Borgholzhausen, Germany WWW: http://insektenfo... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= |
