One of the stranger things to turn up at Scatsta Airport. Brought in by the Senior Air Traffic Controller from a 1973 VW Camper Van (Old Hippy Mobile Cool) which he was in the process of "restoring" to its former glory. It had been in Northern California, USA for most of its time, and this was found behind some of the panelling.
The insect pupae or whatever is 5mm in length. Anyone have any ideas on ID.

According my knowledge, this should be early nest of any Polistes (Vespidae: Polistinae) species. Libor
