Hornet or a wasp? (Cyprus)

Took some pics of this Hornet i belive it is in my garden today.He was flying around some flowers where there was some bees around aswell.
Is it a Hornet or a wasp?

neither a hornet nor atypical yellowjacket wasp, looks like a bee wolf Philantus
very general entomologist

I'll second that , it is a Philanthus sp, possibly triangulum, which is rather variable in color. If t did hunt honey bees, it IS triangulum....
