Yesterday I posted a thread asking for these wasp, but maybe I clicked in Preview thread and not in Post thread.

Well, these fantastic wasps are common in south of Lanzarote island, it sizes about 4 cm and it flies in urban areas and gardens. What species can be?

It is Delta dimiatipenne, a widespread Eumeninae species in Africa. 4 cm is something large, my largestes specimens measures 28 mm.

Many thanks Christian. I'm almost sure in the size. I was very surprised when I saw for first time these magnificient insects. There was bigger than any Delta that I've seen (only D. unguiculata in collections and D. pyriforme in Taiwan island). Maybe the Lanzarote population can give bigger ones???
