Hello, I found this 3 - 4 mm fly on March 3, 2021 near our garden pond in the north of Hannover, Germany. Could it be Paracoenia fumosa? Many thanks in advance! Hans Haleun attached the following image: [223.74Kb] Edited by Haleun on 03-10-2021 22:13 |

Paracoenia has 5 dorsocentrals, so I think this is Coenia. The purple reflections on the throax suggest C. curvicauda.
