eclipse is always interesting for scientists. It helps to prove Einstein's theory, but there are some nuances with this story.

having witnessed a near full eclipse, I would certainly prefer the field full of all Syrphids! That's the sort of thing I dream of

I'm sure you never saw a real TSE.
It's better than seeing a (i) field with almost all genus of syrphids.
