Is this a Cheilosia? The scutellum is partially colored, not seen that before. Cheilosia scutellata looks similar, but antennae seem to be more flashy on this one. Hi Mike, this Cheilosia belongs to the C. longula species-group. Three species are reported from Austria within this group (C. soror, C. scutellata, C. longula). Among other, we must have a closer look at the anterior anepisternum to be sure what species it could be. My guess: C. soror, female. Greatings, Helge |
