Hello! These flies do often sunbathe on tree trunks here in Ostwestfalen/Germany at the moment. They are a little bit smaller than Calliphora, but rather broad, with a greenish brillance on the abdomen. I think they are Muscidae, but have no idea about the genus. Can someone help me? Thanks in advance! Hello, Theo! Zeegers wrote: No doubt Calliphoridae, something like Bellardia Thanks! I will look if I find something about that genus (I must admit, I never heard of it). O, Bellardia is very common. Maybe you know them by their older name Onesia. Onesia nowadays is much more restricted, most species have been converted to Bellardia. Theo |
