Hello! On May 17th, 2020, I observed this fly next to the river Rhein close to Worms, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany. It was resting on a sunny patch of shrubs and grasses between the river and a tree-lined path. Could it be an Eupeodes? Thank you in advance! Ina

It looks like a female Eupeodes corollae indeed. But all your Syrphidae posts should be transferred to the Syrphidae subforum where the experts are!
