According to the distinctively shaped front metatarsus it is a member of the P. peltatus group (P. peltatus, P. nielseni, P. amplus). However, the pictures are by far too small to show further important details. In the paper by Prokhorov et al. (2018, https://www.resea..._Syrphinae ) some distinctive features of the three species are discussed and illustrated.
Platycheirus contains more than 50 European species and is tricky. Especially the females often cannot be separated, at least from pictures. So this is all I can say - sorry!
Regards, Sundew

I can no longer send private messages (and maybe not receive?), even though my inbox and outbox are not yet full. I write, click "send" and they disappear and never show up in the outbox.
