Hi Eric, Thanks for the ID, I thought you might recognize it. And Jorge..I used to work in a bar and we were called Bar Stewards ( well most of the time) I've got no way to collect flies here and it's so dry, hardly any plants that aren't burnt to a cinder.. A bit "Apocalypse Now" to look at or similar to the Botanical Garden in Windhoek at last years ICD9 everything frazzled with very few flies. |

Prey is a dark Vespula pensylvanica, the only regional species with a complete yellow ring around the eye and vulgaris-type abdominal markings. It is common in the West, and absent in Pennsylvania despite the species name. |
