Could this rather colourless specimen be a Muscidae?

I think I see a lot of small, kinky, golden hairs on the mesonotum. That would indicate Pollenia (calliphoridae).

You're quite right about the hairs Paul, although I haven't a photo showing them, I remember clearly the effect of "golden fur". Thanks, Sarah
