No. You can distinguish the two species (on a photo) by the fact that the basal spot extends over two wing cells in P. vulgaris (see arrows) and only one in P. communis. Jürgen: I see many errors on the internet. P. vulgaris is often misidentified as P. communis and vice-versa. I am happy that you post correct info about Panorpa. I like Panorpa very much. Well done, Jürgen
