Hello,
Out with the local Shropshire Invertegrates Group today and we found this impressive looking fly. According to Colyer & Hammond (Flies of the British Isles) it could be Ochthera mantis (Ephydridae). Is this likely to be correct, or are there any other British species that may look similar?

I can no longer send private messages (and maybe not receive?), even though my inbox and outbox are not yet full. I write, click "send" and they disappear and never show up in the outbox.
