Hello Gordon, Welcome to the site! :-)) I think your flies all belong to the family Muscidae. The species with the totally orange abdomen seems to be Phaonia rufiventris, and the other one is Musca autumnalis (which is very well placed in this time I guess! :-)) Greetings Greetings, Gerard Pennards |

Thankyou for the identifications Gerard. I had been trying to identify the Phaonia rufiventris for some considerable time. As a new comer to identifying flie the wing veneration had completely thrown me. Gordon |
