Thanks Roger! The genus page http://bugguide.net/node/view/6695 says that there are six species in USA. They specify the distribution of five of them, so M. orcina, M. bomboides and M. atra can be ruled out as absent from California. M. leschenaulti and M. fautrix are present in California. M. leschenaulti is very different in colours so it only can be M. fautrix or the non-mentioned species in the distribution note. So, please somebody knows what is this non-mentioned species and if my photo is M. fautrix or the other species?? |
