A little asilidae photographed on 02/05/2016, Galicia (Spain).
I think it's a male Dysmachus. I think it's complicated to ID but It may "sound the flute". Thanks.

Hello Luis,

A Dysmachus cf trigonus male. I am not sur if they can whistle : ) The proboscis looks a bit like flute though....

My apologies. Is a Spanish expression but I do not know if has the same meaning in English. I guess it does not. I am sorry.
Very close to this male I also photographed a female. She seemed very similar to the female of my previous post and because of it I said "to sound the flute".

podría sonar la flauta might translate as "I might be lucky"?
