I should measure it again, but I guess around 3 mm. Found in a mushroom (maybe Trametes) in Belgium last week. |

See Plachter, 1979, "The Immature stages of the Fungus-Gnats" Only Ditomyiidae have either such a cylindrical body or such a posteriorly tucked head among depicted Sciaroidea. Between Ditomyia and Symmerus, the prothoracic horns resemble those of Ditomyia closely. |
