Size: ~10 mm (as always, not sure about this)

I notice hair in straight line in middle of the eyes. I got only photos from above and the hard sun light makes it difficult to see details. First I thought this was a Syrphid like Cheilosia, then I didn't think the wing venation was right, now I'm back at the Syrphidae forum. I realize the quality of the photo maybe doesn't suffice for an ID.

Yes, Cheilosia, and it could well be Cheilosia impressa, a female.
More a guess than a real ID however.
