Hello,

Near by D?sseldorf / Germany, close to a little brook, i found this diptera in a damp meadow, yesterday. It was about 9-11mm long.

I hope somebody can help to identify this fly.

Thanx and best regards,
Maik

This is only slightly off-topic: has this species became increasingly common in central Europe?

Here in Finland it was very rare up to the 1950s, but now it is by far the most common of our three Odontomyia species. The other two (angulata and microleon) have lost ground at the same time, with numerous old records but very few new ones.
