Hi all, at least, I think it is Tabanus sp. But which species ? Approx 15 mm; April 25th 2007, Sclaigneaux (B) TIA Philippe |

Tabanus with hairy eyes and 3 bands = quatuornotatus, early spring species (april is very very early for Tabanidae) Theo Zeegers |

Thanks Theo. Everything seems to be early this year and no wonder. Temperature right now is 30 C ! There were several of them, and they were definitely hungry and after me... Philippe |
