New Brunswick, Canada. 21 March 2007. Body length: 4mm. Assumed this fly overwintered as an adult as weather is still unseasonably cold with plenty of snow on the ground. Do the striped eyes help in identification? Expect to see striped eyes on Tabanids but not on other families. Tony T attached the following image:  [35.93Kb] |
