Hey,
I found this, I think it is a crane fly larva, in
northern Germany in some very old and moisture
wood.

Can you help me ID it?

Do you happen to have some more photo's especially the one showing more deteils of the anal segment?
I don't see/hardly see any (distinct) anal lobes, so I'm only guessing Tanyptera atrata (or similar species?)

Maybe this close-up helps,
unfortunately I have no better pictures of it.

sorry, it is the ventral side showing the anal opening. but as I don't see any (distinct) anal lobes (and the habitat fits), T. atrata seems still the most possible species.
I guess you didn't collect it? If so, fixate it in hot water (euphemism for kill), and preserve it in ethanol (70-80%) and send it to me. If not, think of me next timeSmile

Thank you, I will do that next time...
I want to learn more about diptera anyhow,
now I am done with high school, so I might be able to
do a practical training somewhere, were I work with diptera,
to learn the scientific work...

I can no longer send private messages (and maybe not receive?), even though my inbox and outbox are not yet full. I write, click "send" and they disappear and never show up in the outbox.
