Hello, I photographed this larva under a polypore attached to a poplar tree. It measures more than 10 mm and, after some research, I am not sure whether it belongs to the Mycetophilidae or Keroplatidae family. The shape of its head makes me think it is a Mycetophilidae, but is that enough to be sure? Numayta : France : Saint-Louis : 68300 : 28/09/2025 Altitude : 252 m - Taille : + de 10 mm Réf. : 370239 |

My understanding is that the larvae found in the slime webs on polypores are Keroplatidae, often Keroplatus spp.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, they are indeed sticky webs that I found with empty cocoons. |
