Thx Paul. Do you happen to know which species fly in the autumn? I assume Most R. species fly from early spring to early summer.

I need to check, the darkened and broadened wings may give this one away.

Hi Paul, I was going through the brief descriptions of R. species of Hungary. Empididae is moderately well known in Hungary, so only 60% of the species are predicted to have been recorded. Based on the data the best fit is with R. anfractuosa. This species flies in autumn, has darkened wings and a greyish mesonotum with three darker lines. Do you think these images could show this species or something different? Gabor Keresztes Japan Wildlife Gallery Carpathian Basin Wildlife Gallery |
