This was another individual from South-Western Hungary, which has a Mediterranean climate. This fly looks slightly different from the one posted in the other thread.

it does look different but i suspect it will be the same species, hotentotta can have remarkably different appearence depending on the degree of abrasion. Individuals of the same species can look more different from each other than they do from different species!

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
