Chrysops caecutiens, Tabanidae, Hungary

Well, I would have liked to see more of it (legs), but my guess is a male Ch. caecutiens. If it's from Hungary and if it's not from a peatbog, it must be caecutiens. Theo |

Not too many peatbogs around here, so most likely Ch. caecutiens. Also this species is the most common Chrysops in Hungary. I observed this fly relatively early, sometimes in late April or early May.
