Hi Could it be Eupeodes? With this one I feel completely lost. And I saw this hoverly several times. I believe, or think this one could be the same (2010) rested without answer: http://www.diptera.info/forum/viewthread.php?forum_id=7&thread_id=35474 Today I can show pics of two secimen. Pics 1 to 3 shows a darker one from 27.09.11, pics 4 and 5 another one from 17.09.11. There are some more pics which can shows other details if helpfull for ID.
