I came across the website for a study by Lancaster University called Amateurs as Experts. I expect that some of you will already be familiar with this study, but I thought that anyone who didn't know it and is involved in biological recording might find it interesting. The study was cross-disciplinary, involving sociologists, anthropologists and natural scientists and set out to advance the understanding of the social dimension of biodiversity protection policies, practices surrounding scientific knowledge generation and public engagement with science and policy making. See http://www.lancs..../amateurs/
