 Acrosathe annulata larva from buttock

dear dipterists, Last week I was presented a larva, found in the buttock of a tourist at Texel, the Netherlands. The tourist saw a local medic, who passed the larva to a local educational centre (ecomare). I'm quite sure, the concerns Acrosathe annulata. Could anyone confirm or reject this ID ? Please see added pics, higher resolution available in case. In the yellow book of Smith, two paper are referred to treating cases of bites on humans of this species. Googling, I cannot find them (entering 'man-biting Therevidae' yielded the suggestion: 'did you mean: man-eating Therevidae?' - if anyone cound send a pdf I would much appreciate. Therevidae surely. Most likelyt Thereva, because lateral margin of the head capsule has dark projection (angle). |
