Not the best quality, but an alpine species now!? Unfortunally I don?t know the host plant and the specimen enscaped. I found this species again in the Kaunertal (Tirol) at 2700m - but the fly was to fast again. Any ideas? Thank you. Frank Italy / S?dtirol: Corvara, Gr?dnerjoch, 2100m, VII.2006

Not a tephritid but an ulidid: Herina frondescentiae (I hope spelled that right...).

No need to delete, just hit 'Edit' and change the original post  . It is recommended that you update the thread title to correct/best guess identifications anyway to help those who browse the archive at a later date.

Hi Frank, Indeed the top one is Herina frondescentiae (spelled correctly Kahis!), and the bottom one is a Pallopteridae, thou no idea which species. John |
