I found this today at the same place as http://www.dipter...d_id=34650. Is it Psychodidae? Is there any point in taking better pictures (I collected it)?

it looks very much like Psychodidae, it shows posterior floating hairs and lateral appendages. In my opinion larva of Psychodidae are very hard to identify and often need high magnification of the head capsule, and the details are better seen after clearing. When I see the encrustations (or silt deposits?) on the abdomen it must be a member of Pericoma. Also this genus fits the habitat even better than other genera.

Yes, the slime had collected on long curled hairs on the abdomen. There are lots of adults like this around.

I can no longer send private messages (and maybe not receive?), even though my inbox and outbox are not yet full. I write, click "send" and they disappear and never show up in the outbox.
