hello flyforum,

Yesterday I visited the Sluice(Koenen) in The Amsterdam Forest, a good place to watch some tachina's or rhino's. I found the same fly sp. which remember me of Phyto melanocephala.
Now I took some better pictures which gives me a bit confidence.
I am wondering if this specie is right!?

hi Robert

Quite right on species level !
It is a member of the Rhinophoridae family, though
(calyptrae small and diverging from thorax)
