Forest on a small hill on the northeastern edge of Chiang Rai, which is far northern Thailand. Photo taken 22-August 2010. It was a small Asilid, 12mm max I would guess.

Not with a different angle, this was at eye level for me so I couldn't get above it and the vegetation (trees and razor-wire plant - don't know its real name but it draws blood very easily) prevented other angles. I can get a bit closer if you want to see just one part of the body - if I remember correctly.
