Or Solvidae ( = Xylomyiidae) ?
The discal cell is somewhat elongated.
And I don't see spines on the scutellum.

No, definitely Stratiomyidae - the costa stops before the wing tip (continues round the wing tip in Xylomyidae).
There are a couple of genera which don't have scutellar spines, and I'd guess that this is one of them - Allognosta perhaps. It fits the description of the Palaearctic Allognosta vagans quite well, so I'd say it was one of the four Nearctic species.
