hi flyforum, In some little pools on the side of the road I found these little flies. I though of Dolichopodidae, but in this area (polder) there are no trees or branches.. because of heavy wind, the fly is a bit sticked to the ground. What kind of fly is this? Tachytrechus are typical open-sand species, so it is no surprise you found it away from trees. Other genera typically found on open sand include Thinophilus and Hydrophorus.
