Hi, this was found by a brook, it is 4 mms long. It didn't move as other larvae, but it was twisting-winding-spinning around it's body axis. What could it be?

Typical member of the genus Rhypholophus (fam. Limoniidae). What you can't see on the photograph is the somewhat reticulate pattern of the lobes, almost entirely brown but with numerous small white dots. Rhypholophus larvae are also found only in brooks in The Netherlands. see also a previous forummessage on http://www.dipter...d_id=27705

I can no longer send private messages (and maybe not receive?), even though my inbox and outbox are not yet full. I write, click "send" and they disappear and never show up in the outbox.
