Hello!

These flies were numerous on flowers yesterday here in Ostwestfalen/Germany. They were considerably smaller than a Calliphora, more like a Lucilia. What genus could they be? Thanks!

Hi Juergen.
May be fly is rather black than blue, and belong to Tachinidae than Calliphoridae?

In reality they looked rather black, but on all my photos they show this blueish brillance.
Best regards,
Jürgen

This reminds me of Epicampocera succincta - see
http://www.dipter...post_12338.
I haven't got a good record on tachinids, so wait for confirmation! Grin

Hello, Nikita, Tony and Theo!

Thanks a lot! This is my first metallic Tachinid except Gymnochaeta viridis :-).
Best regards,
Jürgen
