Haven't spotted this one before. About 5mm body length, sitting on a rhododendron leaf. Taken today South Coast UK

Maybe Drosophilidae - Scaptomyza? Please check the latest additions to the Gallery.

May be it is Scaptomyza, but I don't think it is S. pallida at least.
S. pallida hasn't black spots on wings and has 2 row ac.

or it could be Palloptera anderssoni Rotheray & MacGowan, 1999, southern specimens in UK have dark smudge on wing tip. only reliable character is aedeagus

And this is a female, so the only way to identify her may be to introduce a reliably-named live male and see what happens! Grin
