Good evening, I know we had this discussion already in this forum, but I just want to see if I learned something of it. I took some pictures of Tabanus sp. at the same time and the same location (Vijlen, Southern Limburg) last week and here are the two animals that look the most different. Is that enough to seperate them in T. bromius (the first) and (a rather worn out) T. maculicornis ? Ben Ben Hamers attached the following image: [116.01Kb] Edited by Ben Hamers on 21-05-2012 21:37 |

Hi Ben The first one is bromius for sure. I understand I think about maculicornis on the second one, but I have my doubts. Theo |

Thanks again Theo, I will give it another try in a future Tabanid-session. Ben |
