I have had trouble determining the family of this one. At first glance it looked like one of the common Muscoid Fly families. But the wing venation has me stymied?it is so simple!

What have I got here?

Photo taken 23 July 2006, in an open area but near woodlands, West Virginia USA.

Length 9.5 mm.
