I keep receiving more IDs from Jindrich Rohacek for my older pictures. The first fly: April 18,2006. He writes, "Pullimosina (Pullimosina) meijerei (Duda, 1918) male, f. brach. This is a terricolous species occurring in rotting leaves of trees, in moss or other decayed vegetation. It also has f. macropt. In some population f. brach. prevails in other ones f. macropt. is more common. This is obviously first record from Russia!" The second fly: April 22, 2006. Dr. Rohacek comments on this, "Spelobia (Spelobia) clunipes (Meigen, 1830), male. A very common species on decayed matter of various kind".

And the third one: May 13, 2006. Here's a Dr. Rohacek's quotation: "Ischiolepta micropyga (Duda, 1938), sex ?. A terricolous species living in litter and in runs of small mammals in wet or swampy forest, also on other (open) swampy habitats. It is not rare but uncommonly collected because of terricolous habits. This is probably first record from European Russia (I have noted records from W Siberia and Far East of Russia only)".

Thanks paqui - but I think you should pay honour to Dr. Rohacek who deserves it so richly. |
