Can you give us some more information? Where in the world did you see them and approximately how large are they? |

The tabanid is a species of Silvius, possibly alpinus. It may help to know where it's from. Also a dorsal view would show some of the diagnostic characters better.

sorry, forgot about that. i found both of them few days ago in my house, in austria near graz. there is lots of "nature" (woods and meadows) in the surroundings. greets!

The asilid is a Choerades ignea female, similar to Choerades gilva, but with yellow hairs behind the eyes.
